The InPowered Podcast

What does it mean to truly shift our relationship with authority? How much power do we the people really have, to create positive change around us? The InPowered Podcast is the source for ongoing updates, discussions and news from the InPower Movement. Our focus is on the Liability Action we are pioneering to address and resolve the ‘smart’ meter problem initially, then other important social matters. Our intention is to inform, encourage and inspire, as we navigate this journey of “inpowerment” together. Published by the InPower Movement and independent filmmaker Josh del Sol Beaulieu, winner of the 2014 IndieFest Annual Humanitarian Award.

I’ve only got 10 days to reply to electric company before they remove my analog meter. I have health issues and am on disability. I’m afraid I’m going to get sicker due to the health problems associated with it. Can someone help in Columbus, Oh area? Thank you

Greetings Everyone: Just finished the first leg and will be sending it out first thing next week. Being sent to CEO, Utility Chair, representative and governor. All paper work to be witnessed and stamped by notary. Will begin with the next level, default, once papers are in motion. Will keep posted as this plays out. I presently do not have a smart meter because I notified the power company the day I moved in that would not happen, so now they are trying to harm me financially for non compliance. I came across this program just at the right time… Read more »

Cal says to only submit the Notices with the parts of it that we agree with, meaning that we can edit the documents. I need to edit the section on “Administrative Remedy Under Verified Seal” in order to insert the actual language of Pacific Power’s offer in my local region so that it matches my Exhibit. If I quote an offer that they are not actually making in my Exhibit, my counter offer would be null and void. However, when I attempt to edit the document, a window comes up that asks for the password needed to edit the document.… Read more »

If you can’t give me the password to edit the document, please post a Word document that we can edit, at least of Page 8, because I’m sure I’m not the only one who will have to deal with this problem. Alternately, you could re-post the entire PDF with a blank line for us to fill in an actual quote from our own Exhibit. So there are 3 possible solutions to this, please choose one and respond As Soon As Possible, as we are up against a very short deadline here.
Thank You!

HI Eli, Did you ever get a response from IPM? I know you said you’re under a deadline.
I think the home page is where there’s more activity with Q&As.
How is it going in your process? Would love to hear.

No Reply from InPower Movement. We just typed out the entire page 8 so that we could edit it ourselves. We put in language from our local utility company’s public offers. We didn’t use quotes so that it would be more applicable to their various offers. We also found documentation of our State’s P.U.C. approving the Utility company’s report to them recommending smart meters. We used those two documents as Exhibit B and Exhibit C so that our Notices would be applicable to the State P.U.C. as well as to the Utility Company. Under public pressure, our Utility company finally… Read more »

Oh thanks for your update and good for you, for moving ahead to make it work for you. We here in NM are at the very beginning stage to go for the NOL, basically are just learning about the process. As you mentioned the public pressure, do you mind sharing how many in your group who are doing the NOL? Did you do public outreach/presentations? Please keep us posted in the Home page comments. Whoever is doing the NOL process, I hope they give updates on this site, so we can all learn of challenges and successes. The founders of… Read more »

Is there someone in the Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia area that is able to help me with the follow-up after submitting round 3 -Notice of Default. My utility is being very threatening. I hope to keep them from terminating my power while waiting for the true bill rounds. I have written numerous notes to them and would appreciate some guidance on effective language along with what I should avoid. Thanks
